Elliott BROOD

Hamilton, ON

For over 20 years, Elliott BROOD has been doing it the hard way, with a journey thousands of kilometres long. They mine old-timey topics and traditions, with a raucous guitar and banjo-focused sound sculpting story-driven roots rock that glistens with soaring voices and wide-eyed, though slightly world-weary, wonder. With a familiar 1, 2, 3, 4…Elliott BROOD count in a new 2023/2024 split/double album, Town & Country, which explores the people and places that shape our lives, wherever we call home. The trio rumbles and rocks over a map of the towns and cities that are home to our experiences and imaginations, histories and plans. Cross-border life, as geography and a metaphor for the walls we run up against, has long been a source of frustration and inspiration. Dressed in the hand-embroidered suits that bear the symbols of each of these two realms, they organically deliver their brand of nitty gritty city folk, evoking summer porch parties and rolling rodeo rhythms. Over bridges and into barrooms, lose your way to find yourself in Elliott BROOD’s town and country.
