Mexican Institute Of Sound
Not performing in 2017
With humour and a wild musical imagination, Camilo Lara’s music hops from polka to punk in seconds, melding old Mexican cumbias, boleros and mariachi tunes scrambled with samples, effects and beats, from lounge music to funk to low-budget beat boxes. Café Tacuba’s lead guitarist Joselo Rangel and the Beastie Boys’s Ad Rock are among his collaborators, and his songs and musical scores - perfect for imaginary situations - have appeared on films Y Tu Mama Tambien and Rudo Y Cursi and TV programs Big Love and Californication. Live Mexican Institute of Sound shows include a drummer, DJ and bassist.
