Bill Homans, a.k.a. "Watermelon Slim" plays intense, raw and unabridged, delta-inspired blues. While laid up in an Army hospital in Vietnam, Slim taught himself left-handed backward slide guitar using a $5 balsawood guitar and his zippo lighter as the slide. Known as the only Vietnam veteran to record a full length LP during the Vietnam War, he may also be the only former watermelon farmer and truck driver with a master's degree in history.
