(USA)  Folk, Rock, Singer-Songwriter

http://www2.gol.com/users/davidr/sloan/

One of the seminal figures in American pop music, his song "Eve of Destruction" was a defining protest song of the '60s, but his influence can be felt in all aspects of pop music from the original lead guitar riff on The Mamas and the Papas' "Monday, Monday" and "California Dreamin," to production on the Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black" studio session (it was his idea to use the sitar).

Since starting in the music business in the 1950s, Sloan has composed more than 26 chart records including the hit singles "Secret Agent Man," by Johnny Rivers, "You Baby" by the Turtles, "Take Me for What I'm Worth" by the Searchers and Herman's Hermits "A Must to Avoid". Pair his prolific songwriting career with producing some of the most enduring pop records of the 1960s and you have a musical career that spans genres and generations.
