Call for your old speakers!

Posted by on 21 May 2010

Montreal’s sound artist Alexis O'Hara is seeking your kind contributions in the imminent construction of Squeeeeque, The Speakerbox Igloo, a sound installation that will be presented by EMMEDIA in conjunction with the 2010 Calgary Folk Music Festival.

This igloo is made of sound! Photos can be found at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/volcanohara/sets/72157617962129251/

EMMEDIA is seeking donations of broken and unbroken speakerboxes, specifically speakers housed in wooden boxes. Guitar amps would also be great. Also needed are two stereo amplifiers. Donations can be dropped off at EMMEDIA (#203 351 11 Ave S.W.  or contact Tomas Jonsson, Programming and Outreach Coordinator (403-263-2833 programming@emmedia.ca) to arrange for pick up.
