Born within the contained music scene of Duluth Minnesota, and immersed in a variety of punk and rock bands, Trampled by Turtles made a giant musical leap when they decided to put aside their feedback and buzz and pick up the mantle of instrumentation rooted in Americana and bluegrass traditions. Yet Trampled by Turtles have retained the DIY attitude and attack of their former rock selves, creating a unique sound that blends the instrumentation of bluegrass with songwriting that has a definite rock sensibility.

In support of their newest release Stars and Satellites (Six Shooter Records), Trampled by Turtles are adding more miles to their lengthy touring schedule, building on their reputation for a one-of-a-kind live show.

“Many bluegrass bands love to show off their speed, but this outfit, from Duluth, Minnesota, invested its supercharged songs with a hooky playfulness and white-knuckle power. Fans of the Avett Brothers’s raucous side ought to take note, if they haven’t already.”
