Music is medicine, for both Reuben and the Dark and their audience. In the 11 years since the release of their debut record Funeral Sky, the road has been long and varied, as they trapse across North America and Europe, from small clubs to major festivals. My songs have found their way into films and television - Killers of the Flower Moon, Breaking Bad, The Highwaymen, Grey’s Anatomy - spaces where the music takes on a life larger than their own story. These creations have carried Reuben and evolved with the people who listen and sing them back.

Collaborations with Kainai’s Blackfoot powwow group the Bullhorn Singers have deepened RATD’s sound and impact. Their fifth album carries all the roads and stories that brought them here, reflecting their core of finding honesty and beauty in the shadows.
