Fronting the popular Irish pop-rock band Bell X1 would keep most folks occupied, but Paul Noonan seems to have unlimited bandwidth. After he and his children streamed concerts during their pandemic lockdown, Noonan adapted the content for a (safe) live show at the Dublin Fringe Festival, adding in Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs & Ham set to music and family-friendly versions of Bell X1 favourites. Noonan grew up playing multiple instruments so is at home behind a vocal mic, drums, guitar or piano. That comfortable ease can also be heard in his unpretentious vocal delivery; he allows his lyrics - known for inhabiting the tiny little details that make us human - to shape themselves. In 1991 he and Damien Rice were members of the lauded, short-lived band Juniper, with Noonan on drums. He's continued to collaborate with numerous singers and songwriters, including Amy Millan and Martha Wainwright, who joined Noonan on duets he wrote for his 2014 Printer Clips project.
