Moody. Powerful. Retro. Modern. Acoustic duo Kacy Anderson and Clayton Linthicum create a sonic style that is simultaneously as old as the prairie grassland and as fresh as a snow drift. The second cousins and lifelong friends started making music together in the early 2010s, bonding over their mutual love of traditional songs. They took their creative partnership to local bars to test the waters, leading to hitting the recording studio and word spreading about them. Their early recordings of traditional songs and originals echoed ’70s British folk-rock and acoustic alt-country. Kacy and Clayton’s sweet, sad harmonies, delivered in the simple roots format of voice and guitar and voice, attracted attention far beyond their rural hometown. They quickly outgrew the local watering hole, graduating to festivals and venues across North America. Kacy's subtle but emotionally powerful vocals and Clayton's multi-instrumental gifts drew admiration from fans, critics, and fellow musicians including Jeff Tweedy who turned from admirer to producer for their third and fourth recordings. One critic points out that, “after more than 50 years, it's high time Ian and Sylvia had some serious competition as Canada's greatest folk duo.”
