Sebastian Gaskin knows his soul. Winnipeg based Gaskin is a multi-instrumentalist R&B singer-songwriter who started making music with his aunties, uncles and cousins in Treaty 5 Tataskweyak Cree Nation, or Split Lake as it’s better known. Gaskin’s self-produced songs are homages to the city, where his exposed walls are covered in the graffiti of urban hip hop, R&B, metal and punk that cover layers of thoughtful narratives and dope guitar lines. His singing moves from soulful and soothing to soaring, all the while effortless, mellifluous and compelling. Since releasing his first single, “6 AM” in 2017, Gaskin’s trajectory has been rising. He toured in support of the iconic songwriter and activist Buffy Sainte-Marie and has performed at numerous high profile festivals. Whether performing solo, duo, or with a full band and DJ, Gaskin delivers a guitar-heavy, passionate show.
